So...I came back to work last week and I am able to walk and dont have a brace or crutches (very impressive for having surgery only 3 weeks ago).

Yesterday...Rabbi Miller, Dan, and 12 JSU and NCSYers left for Yarchei Kallah which means I am left in the office by myself for the rest of the week...do you know what that means? I am bored out of my mind because everyone I have to call is not answering or returning my calls.

Maybe steps is not the right word to use...its more like small hops but I am getting there...today I went in to the office for about an hour and then came home and worked from home...

that is better then nothing...right?

and I love surprise visitors...they are always welcome.

Home Sick

I am officially home sick...no I don't mean that I miss my home (but I do miss my bed a little bit). I am actually sick of being home. I have watched more Law & Order this week then a person should see in 6 months. And the big shocker...I miss work! What I would do to just be able to answer the stupid office phone or pack the suit case for a JSU club.

I have to say...I have some of the best friends ever!

On Friday I had my knee surgery and since then (and even before) my friends have been checking in on me a lot... it means so much that they care about me...some of my friends got me a teddy bear to tell me they are thinking of me.

The last few weeks have been a little crazy...2 shabbatons in 2 weeks and the office is moving on Monday! The shabbatons were awesome!!!!!! The first shabbaton had a little hitch when the van from CT did not make it for shabbos but everyone still had a great shabbos and they met up with us on Sat night. The second shabbaton was so much fun, especially Sat night!

I miss everyone so much!

I think I need to get a life, there is something wrong when I dont have anything to do on a Sat night and I seriously consider going into work so I have something to do but the only thing that holds me back from going is that the office is totall packed up...

I have decided that I am going to try and start telling people what I actually want instead of ignoring my feelings and assuming that people know... So here is my first thouht... I am having surgery Dec 1 and I will be staying at my mom's for at least a week (probably more)... I expect visitors, and if you cant come to visit because you dont live in Boston then I expect you to call to say Hi and tell me you were thinking about me! Got it???? Good!

Anyway I think I might go to sleep since I dont have anything to do tonight...I promise it wont be too long before the next post...

I probably should have updated a while ago (especially because I had decided not to run away very soon after the last post) but I just didnt have time.

Although my life for the last few weeks/months has been very hectic it has been really good...
The hectic part: I have been planning 2 shabbatons that are a week apart from each other (the next 2 weekends), the regional office is moving in the next few weeks and everything has to be set up before I have my knee surgery (December 1), and of course all of the chagim.
The good part: I have some really great friends!!!!!! and even though I might have thought that they werent there for me, they really are there for me. Oh, and, even though I am not doing what I thought I was going to be doing after I graduated, I really like my job.

On a totally different not...hopefully my really bad experience today will halp me grow and learn...and if not I am either going to be come a lesbian or become a nun (there might be an issue with the religious aspect of that life decision).

I think i am going to call it a night...I will try and update you all sooner next time.

Yes I know it has been a long time since I posted...

Fran and Ron's wedding on Sunday was really beautiful...they looked so happy...

Just when I thought Sunday was my last trip into NY for a while...making it 4 trips in just as many weeks...I was corrected...Rabbi Miller asked me to go check out a place for Shabbatons...So it looks like I am going back tomorrow by myself but I will hopefully get to see Hinda!

Anyway...I really should be working...more later...

We only had 20 kids signed up for an event that we wanted to have 100 kids at and it was raining. But the NCSY/JSU Boat Cruise was a success! 51 kids showed up, 12 of which came from CT (thanks to Amy). Everyone had fun!

The wedding was beautiful...I drove to ny with Fran and dropped her off at Penn Station (the next time I will see her is at her wedding) then I headed up to the heights to meet up with Ed, Tonny, and Beth Ann...our ride to the wedding was so much fun...the wedding was great...I got to see tons of people including Rena, Devora, Amy, Ariela, Shimmy, Stacey, etc...
Spent the night at Rena's which was great...we had our usual 3 am corn salad feast, and then I headed home at 8 am...

Work this week has basically been working on the cruise that is this sunday...hopefully we will get kids...

Anyway...I have to go pack...again...

hopefully life will be a little more exciting next week...

Anyone want to pack for me????

I realized tonight that I have spent more time packing, unpacking, and repacking a suitcase in the last month then I have done anything else...I have not slept more then 2 nights in my own bed in my apartment since...July 4th...how crazy is that??? and it does not look like it is going to be changing anytime soon...
I was away at a conference until last night...tonight I unpacked my bag and then packed a bag for shabbos...Sunday I will unpack that bag and pack a bag for Monday night when I go to NY for Shev and Yaakov's wedding and then stay in CT for the night at Rena's...I come back then go to Newton for Shabbos...then maybe I get a few days to myself...then Meir's wedding...then Fran's wedding...then Rosh Hashana and all of the Chagim...and then...Shabbaton 1, 2, 3, and 4...
basically...SEE YOU IN DECEMBER!

Where have I been...where am I going...

So you might be wondering where I have been for the last few days well...I have been at a National NCSY staff conference...yes I actually went to a conference...It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be but it wasnt as good as I thought it would be at the same time. at least i had company for part of it but then everyone left me...

Hopefully I am going home tonight with Rabbi Miller, but then I get to work on Thursday and Friday...then I am in Newton for Shabbos and then I am back to New York on Monday afternoon for Yaakov and Shev's wedding...dont worry I will be back in Brookline by early Tuesday morning (I might have to drive through the night)

OK I am off to bed...it only took me 2 hours to write this entry because I was sitting in the lobby of the hotel...

I have had such a great weekend already and it is only early Sunday morning...
It started off Friday when I went up to New Hampshire with my mom to take my brother back to camp (he had been home for almost 2 weeks with mono, again). After we dropped him off my mom wanted to go to Portsmouth to go to a shoe store...the store did not have the shoes she wanted so we went into a clothing shop and I found a great outfit for the 3 weddings I have over the next few weeks...Friday night was the usual...but I finished an awesome book!!!!! (Thanks Hinda for recommending it) Shabbos afternoon I walked to Hinda's (she was surprised to see me...that was worth it) and then after shabbos I went and hung out with Amy we watched "Raising Helen"

In the morning I am going to Newport with my mom...

I think this weekend might be up there on the list of great weekends this summer, with the weekend I spent at Hinda's and then went into NY...What do you think????

My week started a bit rocky but it looks like it is going to end on a good note...

I finally finished Huge Mailing #1 today with a lot of help from Shifra, Hinda, Dana, Zahava, and Dani...I hope Staples can help me with the next one because I can't handle this again...

Hinda and I went shopping a lot this week...but don't worry we also returned stuff.

It is only 11 and I am exhausted...what is wrong with me????

I am really tired but I thought I would just give you all a quick update...

yesterday I got to see and catch up with a bunch of old friends at Aviva and Adam's wedding and after.

Today I got to see Hinda! We had a lot of fun...I would have to say we definately had a great HinDAC adventure...and Hinda got green sneakers...What could be better????

Ok I think when I cant actually type straight it is a sign that I should go to sleep...

Ok....so I am alive and I guess I am not so good at posting...it is not because I dont care I just have not had a chance...

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately (I know that might be trouble...) I have been thinking about where I am in life (even more trouble) have I made the right choices? Lately I feel like maybe not...I do like my work, but did I make the right choice by staying in Boston? Should I have gone to NY?

I spent shabbos at my mom's in Newton where I was, I guess, in a way, "set up" with my neighbor's nephew from London...He is really nice and sweet...and we talked for hours about a lot of different things. He asked me a few times through out shabbos if I felt pressure to get married and each time I answered no...but now that I think about it, I am feeling pressure...I feel pressure from my mom because everytime she hears I have met someone she pressures me about the possibility, I feel pressure from my community now that everytime I talk to a guy people start assuming (oh wait that has been happening for a few years), I feel pressure from people who have told me that I should be moving to NY, and I feel pressure everytime I see my brother who is 3 years younger then me with his girlfriend who he has been dating for 3 years...
So I guess I do feel pressure.

I have to give a big shout out to Hinda...the other half of HinDAC for the amazing shabbaton she put together last week. It was awesome! You should be very proud...and a big thank you...for always being there for me! I owe you big time...

So I am not so great at this posting thing...as Hinda has pointed out...but I think it will just take some time.

The last few days have been somewhat awesome... Friday was Hinda's 21st birthday. I had been agonizing over what to do to help her celebrate since my birthday. I know I didnt do as well with the surprises as she did but I think I did farely well...after all I did celebrate her half birthday as well.

Shabbos lunch was not at all what Hinda and I expected. At least we had each other to keep company and to laugh with after. The rest of Shabbos we hung out at her place with a bunch of her friends and had a birthday party.

Last night was definately the best part! Dena and I took her out but the night got a lot more fun when we met Jim and the Meir look a like.

Today I spent with my family sailing in marblehead and then walking around Salem.

But it is time for sleep so more later...

SO.... I decided after thinking about it for a long time that I would join the world of blogging... why all of the sudden? Well, 2 weeks ago I turned 25 and a lot of changes have taken place over the last few months (most of them really good) and I am having a lot of new beginnings so I figured now was a good time to start a new blog.
So what are these new beginnings I am talking about?
Well...2 months ago I finally graduated from BU. I graduated with a bachelors in math and education. But I decided I don't want to teach. But I have a job so you don't have to worry. I am working full time for NCSY and I am really liking it.
In other news...Fran (my roommate this year) got engaged and is getting married in September so I had to find a new roommate. After a lot of anxiety I found one...well actually Dani Unger found one for me...her name is Debra Miller and she is really nice I think it will definately work out.
btw...I have some great friends....especially Hinda...I owe her big time...especially after everything she did for my birthday and then this past weekend.
anyway...I am going to go watch a movie with Debra...next time will be a little more exciting...I promise!
